Marking her third release on her Neverwhere imprint, Camea returns with three-track EP ‘Vanish’. Released earlier this month, Camea digs deep on her drum machine into Studio 1-esque territory with minimal techno grooves and alluring vocals. As razor-sharp synths rumble throughout, ‘Vanish’ perfectly showcases Camea’s love for avant-garde techno.
Featured on the EP are two incredible remixes. The first is from Delft label head honcho LA-4A, who is best known for his analogue productions. For the EP, LA-4A turns ‘Vanish’ into a 303 break-cut club mix with bass driven percussion. On the flip side, Ostgut Ton/Berghain resident Tobias. creates a rework perfect for dark basement clubs across the globe. A spacious 8-minute journey, Tobias.’s minimal take is filled with pulsating synths underpinning Camea’s echoing haunting vocals.
With this release, Camea is also marking the 2nd anniversary of her cult Neverwhere Radio show this Spring, having produced twenty-four, two-hour episodes with exclusive DJ mixes and guests. The show currently has residencies on Digitally Imported, Tsugi Radio and Ibiza Sonica, and Camea has quickly established herself as a driving force in the left-field techno community, and a passionate advocate of underground radio.
