Hailing from North London, Loraine James has been quietly releasing a mixture of IDM, ambient and electronica for the last couple of years. Releasing her debut album ‘Details’ last year, Loraine is a master at crafting effortless blends and textures. Since the release of ‘Details’, Loraine went on to win an Oram Award and took a hiatus from the project to focus on workshops and her Hydra alias alongside Will Primett. Returning earlier this year, Loraine released ‘+44 Thinking Of You’, a glitchy, broken beat record that samples chopped up Mariah Carey vocals throughout. The track has received support from the likes of Object Blue who after playing it on her Rinse FM show invited Loraine on for a guest mix. Bringing the ‘+44’ chapter to an end, earlier this week Loraine released a remix package for the single including Drvg Cvltvre, Charles Vaughan, Numbertheory, flies+flies, BFTT and more. The stand out remix for us was from Morwell who turned the record into an emotive old school jungle roller.
