A jack of all trades, Ed Eldridge has been running Bristol club night Rough Draft for the past four years alongside local rising talent Ellie Stokes. A DJ, promoter, painter and illustrator, Ed has worked across Europe with festivals, parties and labels, creating artwork and programming stages for the likes of Meadows in the Mountains. Alongside this, Ed has released under numerous alias’, one of them being Fred with Wilfy D from Peach Discs, on labels such as Banoffee Pies Records. With Ellie as Rough Draft, the pair host a monthly radio show on Noods Radio and this summer they’ll be heading to Field Maneuvers festival. Ahead of the three day rave, held in a secret location, Ed shares his party essentials that will take you from day to night.
Mike Saxon – Together (We Can Live)
I couldn’t think of a more perfect tune for daytime at FM, it captures the very essence of what it, the music and the people involved started it all for. <3 And Harmony. Just Perfection.
Absolute 2 Feat. Joe Church – Don’t You Wanna Be Mine
Basically one of those US Garage tunes that can turn any Dance Floor into a love filled, smiling, euphoric inhibition abandoning space where your free to be you. Which is basically how FM makes me feel.
Sound Virus – Swirl
Found this is a charity bin for 50p liked the look of it, turned out to be worth £45 and be an absolute gem of a record. 5am bizzness.
DJ MIKE (IN The MIX) – Heavenly Vibe (Heavenly Mix)
I know this is one of FM mainstay, Stav’s favs and as it’s always his birthday at FM and he is such a hero, this one had to be included. Its’ one of my percies too. All about the Heavenly Vibe Mix – str8 banger, and that Haunting vocal and wind sweep pad just gives it that windy NYC morning feel. OOOOOFFFFFFF YES PLZ
Brutal Bill – Plasma Energy (Play The Flute Dub)
What it says on the tin. 4am lazerdome – eyes closed, feet working, double step, shoulders rockin’, body jackin’. FUCK YES
DJ Sotofett & LNS – Jugando Con Fuego (Club Mix)
My record collection contains so much Sex Tags Mania, and affiliated labels friends, and their label compadres it’s hard to not fill my box with it all all the time. But this is a record that hasn’t left my bag since I got my mitts on it, this works at sunrise, sunset, mid-afternoon, midnight, just a beautiful, beautiful record, each mix is brilliant, but this is great to kick a set off with, chill one out with or begin and end with.
SW/SVN – untitled A (SUED 18)
Not much needs to be said about this. Ravers, 5am, huge Stacks, hazers, lasers and uncle Gary.
Chris Simmonds – Feeling Happy (The Dub)
Love some of Chris’s early bumping Garage house. All tracks on this EP are fire.
DSC – The Sorcerer Feat. Guava
Jitty, Squelchy, haunting, can always find a when where and a why to drop this…
Leo James – Event Horizon
Giz from BH and I had a joke a while back when we first met and I said I didn’t own any of his labels records, he liked my honesty, and said maybe one day when you do send me a photo, so when I heard this I sent him a photo of me holding it, his response was OMFG are you kidding me, YES. Hahaha I love this record so much it’s got me through good and bad times. But it’s sheer power in sound is just awesome. Leo James is a king in my eyes.
